The Humpty Dumpty Zeitgeist

From The American Spectator comes this timely article filled with examples of Alice:

WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF ALICE: Stripping Language Of Objective Meaning Is Dragging Us Down The Rabbit Hole.

The author, Patrick J. McCloskey writes, "Once the meaning of words becomes arbitrary and subject to elitist control, any manipulation in society becomes possible."

So true.

Words matter... a lot.

Words matter but they can only hurt if we let them. Political correctness has moved into absurdity.

And ban them they will under the umbrella of political correctness. Great article.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

And now the gender neutral pronouns for our little rugrat crumb-crunching penguins. We should all carry a cheat sheet to keep up!

Jan: Didn't you mention Newspeak yesterday? Orwell, and others, knew that if you change the meaning of the words, you can change the world and not necessarily for the better.

Sandee: So true. PC is killing our country. Who could've believed that our speech would be so censored in this day and age?

Z: Absolutely. A very good case in point.

Messymimi: I know. Life can be scary enough day-to-day without these ridiculous national upheavals that aren't productive for the average American but only advance a liberal agenda.

DaBlade: A cheat sheet to keep up with their gender neutral pronouns? Only decency prevents me to write here how I feel about it coming to that. If it gets worse though, I'll gladly tell them where to put said cheat sheet. Meanwhile I'll keep using he, she and it. See ya at the Gulag ;)
