From the stupid criminals files comes this doozy about a thief in southwestern France who returned to the home from which he had just stolen a TV to pick up the remote control!
Alert neighbours tipped off the police and the thief was arrested.
The police didn't have to be remotely Columbo-like to catch a thief this dumb.

Well you CAN'T expect him to actually get up to change the channel, can you? LOL!
They ALWAYS return to the scene of the crime...
My kids were surprised to hear that in my day we didn't have remotes. "You had to get up to change the channel?" they said, "Everytime?"
I jokingly tell them that people used to have kids just to have someone to change the channels for them.
And nowadays people have kids to have someone to find the remote when it gets lost! ;-)

Remote controls are about five quid in any decent electrical store. Cor blimey - what an absolute prat of a criminal! What a pillock!

I got a couple of universal remotes at CompUSA for free (after rebate) a few years ago.
Greed gets'em every time.
