Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... just in time for Halloween, a cat dressed up as a straight wizard at Hogwarts.

Outing Dumbledore

I wish JK Rowling hadn't... not that there's anything wrong with that.

;-)

Happy Friday, everybody!

I don't care if he's gay or not, but why is she going back and fiddling with the story? Isn't the series DONE? Is she going to go back now and tell us that Draco Malfoy was a test tube baby, or that Hermione had a suspicious mole removed over one of the summers? Who the heck cares?

If she wants to create more, maybe she should just write another book...

Cube,
Beautiful kitty! I love the study in black and white.

jen: Apparently, the director wanted to insert a scene into the movie that wasn't in the book. He wanted to show Dumbledore pining for a female lost love. Rowling nixed the idea by passing him a note saying Dumbledore was gay.

It's her intellectual property & she's entitled to mold it however she wants.

What I don't understand is Rowling revealing this fact in a venue that would filter down to young children.

angel: I like the cat's alert look & how it seems unconcerned about the outfit.

My cats would be thrashing about trying to rip it off.

Ok, seriously...why add that on about his charater at the end and not mention it in the book? So what's next? Harry is black?

Puuuurrrrect kitty for Halloween, beautifully dressed and groomed, very classy.

The "outing" was gratuitous. As others have suggested, the books are done and dusted, too late to rewrite them honey. My daughter was disgusted that JK suddenly felt the need to do this, and said that nothing in the books gave any indication that he was gay.

I am rolling my eyes at this one, Cube.

What a load of gratuitous crap.

>^00^< PKAK~!

our new kitty has been trying to keep me away from catblog friday!

last night he (clawed mewnet) took a nosedive into nancpop's footbath while we were watching a movie - he's keeping us sooooooo busy...

caz: Your daughter is right. There was no outright indication in the books. In retrospect, I'm reading new meaning in Harry's statement, "I'm Dumbledore's man."

I wish she had left it unsaid.

brooke: I hear you. I liked the books, and I've liked the movies, but this, I'm not happy about it.

nanc: Don't let your kitty stop you from coming to Cat Blog Friday.
Bring her/him along.

BTW I'm dying to see a photo... *hint* hint*
