One More Chance

Tatiana Del Toro was picked as a wildcard on American Idol last night. She gets one more chance to get the votes that will advance her to the Final 12.

I hope she makes it because, so far, her histrionics have been the most interesting parts of an otherwise dreary Idol season, but personally, I think they brought her back just to torment her with a second loss.

I hope I'm wrong.

I always wondering how much I am being manipulated by contrived scripting on so-called reality shows.

Thanks to posts like this, and turmoil in the Fox schedule as "24" and "House" get shoved around, I know that we are in the middle of a season of "American Idol".

The only time I watch Idol is when it's on The Soup.

Off subject, but saw this and thought of you and Kinky. It was written by a monk who was doing translations on the back of a manuscript.

PANGUR BAN

I and Pangur Ban my cat

'Tis like a task we are at
Hunting mice is his delight
Hunting words I sit all night

Better far than praise of men
'Tis to sit with book and pen;
Pangur bears me no ill will
He too plies his simple skill.

When a mouse darts from its den
O how glad is Pangur then!
O what gladness do I prove
When I solve the doubts I love!

Practice every day has made
Pangur perfect in his trade
I get wisdom day and night
Turning darkness into light.

Jan: Probably more than we think.

BeckEye: No *hee hees* for us then.
I suspected that they were just using her to boost the wildcard show ratings. It's the last straw for me. I'm through watching
this season.

Woman: We would've missed it too if we hadn't set the DVR. Believe me, you didn't miss much.

dmarks: I'm not watching the rest of this season. I'm through.

Brooke: It that the condensed version ;-)

Ananda girl: You didn't miss much.

Oh, thank you. That's such a sweet poem. To think that something so old still captures a sentiment relevant today.

Sure, nowadays we use keyboards, but writing is still the act of 'turning darkness into light.'

Thanks for sharing that.

By the way, I converted my Spanglish into proper Spanish, since you shamed me into it. You're such a bruja for pointing that out. :)

I still stand by putting adjectives before the noun. It's the American way.

Cube: I've never watched "Idol", but I almost considered watching it when that Sangria guy with the haircrest that everyone hated was suddenly the most talked about man in the world. But I never watched it, and Sangria was voted off the island or whatever they do on that show.

BeckEye: lol! I'm just keeping you honest. Do you really want to piss off your hispanic readership... you know, the ones that call you BeckOjo.

dmarks: I remember. I had a fondness for Sanjaya not because he was much of a singer, but because his name was a word that rhymed with papaya. That came in a handy on several occasions ;-)
