Tired Or Tiresome?

Barack Obama 'Too Tired' To Give Proper Welcome To Gordon Brown

BO's not too tired to party hearty, work out everyday, and shoot hoops. No, this was a deliberate snub towards a country that represents white colonial power and it will not be accorded any special consideration under Obama's administration.

One State Department official said it best, "There's nothing special about Britain. You're just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn't expect special treatment."

That says it all.

The British press called Tony Blair Bush's Poodle (a high compliment, of course). I wonder how they will characterize the Obama-Brown relationship.

For now they will make excuses for Obama and his inartful dodge of proper protocol.

Oh, he's tired, he's overwhelmed. We'll see what they say when Obama's fangs come out and we see the policies that clatter inside BO's large-eared head.

And judging from his upbringing, his dubious friends and 20 years of Rev. Wright's sermons, those policies are not going to be pretty.

I'm not overly fond of the British, so I'm okay with snubs.

What happened to the boundless energy of "Campaign Obama" ...that studly young man who pranced around on the beaches of Hawaii just to show us what a strong and beefy hunk he is?

What happened to the promise of repairing our reputation in the world? Is this what they had in mind? This is an outrage! Britain...just the same as the other 190 countries in the world? Are they kidding?? It's not funny.

Thanks cube, for bringing this article to our attention.

Maybe he's just too tired.
Then again, Brown is a prick. The british don't like him, and he's going to make the Labour Party loose the next elections.

Ananda girl: I'm not a big fan of Brown's party, but the Brits are our allies. We can't forget that.

RightKlik: I think it's an outrage in any event. Whether BO is tired not even 2 months into his presidency, or it's a deliberate snub, or even if they're clueless about foreign policy. It spells bad news for the USA.

Hector: Whether or not you like the leader, the protocol must be followed or hard feelings will ensue.

Had this been a republican president it would've been replayed on the news cycle ad nauseum under the worst possible spin.

Comon, Obama's been workin' haaaaard. He's been bustin' his ass.

anonymous: I hope he didn't think it was going to be easy.

If he can't do the job, he needs to do a better job of faking it and delegate the rest.

Our enemies are watching.

You have a point. We don't have that many allies anymore.

Not surprising as Brown is to labor what W was to conservatism. After giving the left wing virtually everything they demanded in exchange for not surrendering to the jihadists, W finally vetoed one bill that was just that: Humiliating retreat in the face of the enemy. They knew we were winning, and as the traitors we know they are, they tried one last time to inflict defeat on their own nation in order to blame the president. But they failed. Even with the state media completely in the bag for them. We won. Britain won.

And we can't have that can we?

Sure most democrats aren't fighting anyway. Like Biden's son: he is a JAG lawyer, now, over there, safe as can be. But watch him beat his manly chest when he returns, to out Kerry even the fearless John F Kerry when it comes to the Frank Burns blow hard factor!

When Democrats demanded a withdrawal from the battlefield to pay for some homoerotic objective that is so important to them at all times, W finally found a pair and vetoed it! How cruel he was. Just like Hitler...

Brown is an apostate to labor, (Did you see the craven bowing and scraping before Lord Mugabe when they knighted Teddy Kennedy? I howled with delight! What a tool!) the gutlessly British equivalent of our democrat party that thinks the rest of us don't know they are power mad communists only because they don't admit it in mixed company!

All that matters to them is satisfying the endless demands of the parasite class: gay marriage, government funded abortion and euthenasia, free stuff galore for the angry loafer, and dope aplenty to unsee the facts before the suckling morons who never quite figure out that there is more to life than following your appetites.

We finally have someone in office concerned about the essential frivolity of our age: Why the lazy constantly fail.

But don't think that is the only frivolity the fearless magnificent one is concerned with. Rejoice.

I don't recall Bush snubbing actual allies (the France of the day was openly supporting Saddam Hussein and arming him: France was not an ally). But this statement is a rather blunt snub of an actual true ally.

Ananda: If not for the British, most of the music I listen to would be gone!

Queequeg: "free stuff galore for the angry loafer"

I like the concept of the angry loafer. Shoes with 'tude!

Oh dear... confession time. I have nothing against the people, only past government policy against the Irish. Yeah, I'm Irish and pro union. I'm not sure yet how I feel about Brown. I'm a watch and see kind of gal. And yeah, we agree on the music. They have produced much that I am fond of myself.

Or to go up and down those helicopter steps and have to salute the military escort.

Do BHO's supporters have a clue how STUPID they sound when they offer the tiredness excuse?

Funny, Obama and Gordo are on the same page ideologically, then again Gordo's pretty dour - Can't imagine sparks going off with anyone when he's in the room.

Tony was BFFs with Dubya
Tony was BFFs with Clinton.
He'd be BFFs with anyone who could boost him.
Poodle was a brilliant description.
He's still trying to escape it.
Arf arf.

Interesting.

Now I'll be waiting with worm-on-tongue to see how Obama behaves when he first meets with out PM.

We might be small, but Australia is one of the most grovelling and devoted allies of the US.

We're gruff, but awfully sensitive. Snub us and he'll have 20 million mightily pissed-off Aussies mooning him. Not a pretty sight, I can tell you now.

I guess they'll say we're just one of 190 countries, and damned little to boot. Not an argument that will wash in the antipodes though!

"Mr Obama's gift in return, a collection of Hollywood film DVDs that could have been bought from any high street store, looked like the kind of thing the White House might hand out to the visiting head of a minor African state."

Oh puh-leaze!

That's tacky, lazy and insulting.

There's nothing new about the protocols of diplomacy or gift giving between heads of state!

Unforgivable!

An amendment to my post. That's Irish-American... I have family there, but my mom was first generation Irish-American. Don't want to give a false impression that I'm from Ireland.

Ananda girl said...

I'd like to add to that... by pro union, I mean that I am pro U.S. labor union and working class issues here. (Not pro unification of Ireland.) I am also anti violence where Ireland is concerned. Very upset by the news that two more British policemen were recently killed by someone claiming to be IRA. Sad.

That's just plain rude. I wouldn't expect that of any elected official.

The Brits did not like the way Brown was received by Obama, and they have ripped Obama to shreds for it.
I can't understand why Obama gave Brown the snub.
What a dumb thing to do.
I thought Obama was supposed to be classy.
That was not classy.
