Realization About My Cat
My cat sleeps about 20 hours a day. She has her food prepared for her. She can eat whenever she wants, 24/7/365. Her meals are provided at no cost to her. She visits the doctor once a year for her checkup and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this she pays nothing and nothing is required of her.
She lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than she needs but she is not required to do any upkeep. If she makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. She has her choice of luxurious places to sleep. She receives these accommodations absolutely free. She is living like a queen and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of her costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the
head,
"HOLY S#!t, MY CAT IS A DEMOCRAT!"
[The BLOG note: This came to me via email from my F-I-L, but I changed it to cat from dog because I think the label applies better to cats.]

Come on, Cube. Cats lower your blood pressure and they...they...uh...
Oh, for the life of a coddled cat!
Damn. I need to change careers and become a cat!
BTW, your cat is not a Democrat, it is a highly evolved capitalist conservative. In exchange for some minor pest control and the satisfaction you glean from her company, she has accepted the aforementioned payment for services rendered.
Actually Brooke has a good point. The cat's a small business owner.
cats....dogs....neither do much more than as little as possible, unless they feel the need for speed (activity). it's a life all us little people support in exchange for, uh, lower blood pressure...?
Hahahahaha! Who says a dog has the life?
Jan: Perhaps, but more often they elevate my blood pressure with their crazy antics. For a week now we've been dogsitting my brother's boxer mix and she likes to chase cats. Let me just say it's been a rough week keeping them apart.
Always On Watch: It would be wonderful except when a big dog who hasn't been trained not to chase cats is staying at your house for a week. See my comment to Jan above.
Brooke: I like your take on this better.
Chuck: Yeah, the cats own us.
Crazy4coens: Yet we still love them to pieces. Go figure.
Ananda Girl: Both cats and dogs know how to enjoy life.
