Ghoulish Granny

You all know about my penchant for true crime, well I thought this was strange...

Woman Shares Home With Family Corpses: Widow, 91, Had Husband, Twin Sister Dug Up

But I found this stranger still:

Official: PA Woman May Keep Corpses If She Builds Crypt

Weird, huh?

weird, but I can't imagine that anyone would have thought to pass a law against it.

I don't know which is creepier, her doing it or the state letting her.

Death is hard for her to take, but dusting your dead family members ISN'T?!?

Gah!

Yee!

I at first thought she just wanted her husband sister BURIED on her property, and was thinking, what's wrong with that?

But keeping the bodies-- unburied-- is... sick.

Jan: Aside from being insanely weird, it is very unhygienic to keep a dead body in your parlor. Most of the laws focus on that aspect of it.

Chuck: lol. Both. To their credit, she is quite the funny old bird and, although a bit touched in the head, is not evil in any way. The cops don't want to throw the book at her and just want her to be safe. If she puts the bodies in a hermetically sealed glass case, they are inclined to just let her be.

Brooke: Apparently not. She would spray her sister with her favorite perfume, put her glasses on her face, fix her make-up. I'm not sure what she did for hubby, but it's clear that she was very lonely and very deluded.

Karen Howes: It is sick. The poor old thing is so lonely she has to resort to talking to the dead. Where is the rest of her family?

Karen K said...

That's a good point, Cube... she resorted to that because she's THAT lonely. How very, very sad.

Karen Howes: Like the police, I feel sorry for her and don't want to prosecute her for these 'crimes'. I really would like to know where the rest of her family is, if she has any.

Is she neurotic or afflicted with dementia? Maybe both?

wow, that's a story and a half.
I feel sorry for her, too, but SOMETHING IS WRONG :-)

Always On Watch: Who knows. I know that she lives in a lonely rural area and doesn't have much company.

Z: Something is wrong. She had no one talk to and went out of her way to manufacture someone to talk to. Very sad.
