Shuttle Discovery

Shuttle Discovery is scheduled to lift off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 3:49 p.m. EDT (1949 GMT) on a voyage to the space station.

I want to know whose bright idea was it to launch in the afternoon?

I hope the weather cooperates and, as always, I'll be outside trying to spot the com trail of this magnificent craft...

Godspeed, Discovery.

*sigh* NASA...

I think that the space program needs to move on to new, fresh ideas. The shuttles have been around since I was born!

I REALLY want to see our space program take off. NO pun intended...

I hear you. I want us to go to Mars already. But I also feel we should give the shuttle its due. It was the first reusable spaceship. That's awesome. In my day, they were used once & discarded.

This is the only way they can finish the space station - taking forever, but to not finish would be appalling. T

hey already have plans to replace the shuttle, but no simple task.

Let's hope the space station can one day be completed and put to good use, with everyone home safe, and the shuttles can be retired.

I'm with you. The shuttle has done her job, and now the next generation space vehicle should take over. The moon and Mars is waiting.
