One To Beam Up

After listening to Representative David Wu (D-Oregon) give his Vulcans and Klingons in the White House speech, I'm having trouble picking just one smartass reply...

Don't let stoopid Democrats send real Representatives to the House. It's wrong!

Reality, please send Mr. Wu the check.

I'm a huge Trek fan, but even I know it's just a TV show!

Oh, Margaret!

This first week has been a bad week for Democrats.

Maybe they will embarrass themselves to death, and we can have a special election. I'm dreaming, I know!

tmw: it's a nice dream, but our side is much more rational when it comes to the real world.

OMGosh, yes, wasn't that funny? I heard it on Laura Ingram this am, and could hardly believe it. The left is having greater and greater difficulty separating reality from fiction... even 1960's TV fiction!

elmer's bro: I hope it wasn't a 54 year old hotdog cause that would drag temporal mechanics into this.

Errr ... no ... they're not Vulcans.

Glad we cleared that up.

:O

Wait a minute! Does this make the Arabs the Romulans? Where does the Neutral Zone start?

I'm so corn-fused...

cube said...

brooke: Romulans are portrayed in Star Trek as hotheaded, violent, and sneaky...

*shakes head
I just can't believe that was on the floor. A speech like that?
Unbelievable.

ragggedy: that's the dems for you. Sad, but true.

It would be all I could do not to show up the next day with a pair of ears, or a forehead on... Hee, hee.

brooke: yeah, or at least give him the secret Vulcan handshake at every opportunity :-)

That's really, really dumb. I get where he's going with his analogy, but it's still dumb.

Um, Klingons on the President's staff? Then we wouldn't worry about pesky stuff like trials, there's no honor there. We'd have just dispatched a small team to assassinate Hussein, and we wouldn't even hide it.

And you can just forget the 60 batrillion dollars we spend on social programs.

What an idiot!

jen: I like how you think. This speech
was stupid on so many levels, including the Trek realm. Only a Trekkie/Trekker would appreciate this position... and I do :-)
