Clinton and Obama, Johnson and King
The excerpt that caught my eye was this one:
Hill said, "Dr. King's dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act," and later added, "It took a president to get it done."
It's good for Hill that so few democrats watch FOX News.

The clintons would have to be caught on video abusing themselves and animals in order for them to go away, and even then they would profit from the release. For whatever reason, the dems have fallen in love with the pipedream that is the carpetbagging twosome.
Let's hope New Hampshire gives her a serious reality check.

There is an extremely interesting story connected with both the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act. According to research conducted that the LBJ Presidential Library, three was no political activity too low for Mr. Johnson in order to gain passage of the two acts. In a taped telephone conversation with Katherine Graham (then publisher of the Washington Post) and suggested to her that if she would send some of her photo-journalists out to document the activities of members of congress, including off-shore visits with their “nieces,” he could get passage of CRA and VRA without much more delay. Whether she did that is unknown (to me), but it is clear that both acts were passed by a Congress that was previously hesitant to do so (in light of the 13th and 14th Amendments). Even Kennedy wasn’t convinced that passing such bills was the proper course of action.
It is always possible that neither Clinton is aware that blackmailing members of congress into voting a certain way has been (and continues to be) a viable legislative strategy — I suspect they do know the story, but I’m not sure I understand why anyone would necessarily be proud of it. I can’t speak for others, but I won’t cast a ballot for someone who supports such shenanigans. Given the corrupt nature of American politics, I am not surprised our voter turnout rate is so low, but I am amazed that it is so high.

Must say that as a South African I have found that Bill has been doing some great work here just like Carter has since leaving the White House.
Hilary certainly not perfect but I doubt she could cause the harm Bush has done to World opinion of the US Govt.
I hope the voters choose someone who will put the US back on top again. Will be interesting to watch.
I agree that the election will be interesting to watch, but IMO the only thing the Clintons & Carter have done since being in office is run their mouths and pad their wallets. Oh, and in Carter's case, ingratiate himself to many anti-American regime leaders.
If the world's opinion of the USA is only high when we're down and out (after 9/11), then I'd rather the world was mightily annoyed at us.
