cube, cold isn't necessarily relative. Your blood actually thins and thickens according to the temperature which makes you more sensitive to temperature extremes based upon your blood viscosity. (at least as it was explained to me once by a doctor I used to date)
It was actually very warm up here until recently. Most of the winter I've only worn a sweater since the temps have been in the 40's - 60's.
So take heart, you're no more a wimp than someone who's accustomed to below zero temps.
One cute follow-up based on eyesallaround's comment:
A friend told me that yesterday her little Jack Russell Terrier upon seeing the two foot mountain of snow towering over his little body at the door to outside, simply lifted his leg and peed while standing indoors----he still managed to make a nice yellow snow ring from his cozy doorway!
I am just glad to know that snow is a thing that happens to other people as well. Surprisingly, Iceland had very little of it this winter and the climate has been fairly mild for a winter.
My shepherd doesn't even like to go potty when it's raining hard. I can't imagine her going out in snow, but then, you never know. Dogs can be so umpredictable. She might even like it.
That's too funny! My sister lives in Bradenton & she called me yesterday to complain of it being in the 40's there...had to laugh because I'm in Michigan! Nuff said, LOL!
My granddog loves the winter weather 'cept when it gets below freezing, then you havta carry her.
This reminds me of the Phoenix area weathermen complaining about how "cold" it is in the "winter" mornings in Phoenix. The lows of 50-something are met with forecasters in front of large bank thermometers clutching hot steaming coffee and draped in scarves. Please. The other day at my house it was 26 degrees AFTER the sun had come up and I went outside in a t-shirt and flip-flops to take out the trash. I'd picnic in 50-degree weather.
Hey Cube! Happy Valentine's Day! Well, we had a bit of a cold time too...our first snow this year. We have had ice storms but for some reason snow has evaded us. But yesterday the kids were VERY happy and actually got to do a bit of snowball fighting...even if it was a bit slushy. ((North Carolina))

47 is cold? Oh man...just go to any state ending with "ota" and you'll know real cold.
47 was the actual temperature but it was gusty, so it was lower if you took into account the wind chill factor.
OK, I'm the first to admit it. We Floridians are wimps about the cold.

I'm with you! If it gets down in the thirties, I feel like I'm in the morgue.

I'm sorry, did you say a high of 47 degrees? ;)

Watch out where the huskies go,
And don't you eat that yellow snow.
Yes. That yellow snow tastes sort of funny. Woof! but the chocolate chips are even more yukie

darrell: Zappa fan? Perhaps if we all had modified dogs yellow snow wouldn't be such a probem ;-)
tom & icy: chocolate chips?
Ewwwww!
Michigan, NC, Arizona, Bradenton, NY, Iceland ... these comments cover a lot of territory. Thanks for sharing your cold dog stories.
47 is warm here for this time of the year. We love to get out in only sweat shirts when it's that warm.
Go ahead and rub it in. Have your fun, you bunch of polar bears ;-)
