I just saw telly news about the dinner Cubicle, and I do hope your invitation turned up in time, because Bush's "breaks with protocol" were hilarious! He carried it off extremely well.
caz: Alas, the invite never arrived. It's their loss, I'm afraid ;-)
I thought W's speech at the garden tea was quite funny. He was listing the accomplishments of the Queen, & when he got to the part of her participation in our Bicentennial, he began to say, 177-- caught himself & said 1977. It was one of those moments you don't easily forget.
caz: The Queen wasn't upset by it. She has a wicked sense of humor. In fact, at the reciprocal white tie dinner at the British embassy hosted by the Queen, she teased the President about the slip up during her toast.

You know, I didn't get mine, either. Weird.

nanc: Is nancson a prince?
jen: Four words. United States Postal Service. That's my story & I'm sticking with it ;-)
d.s.: thank you. You too.
he thinks he is - always sayin', "when are you going to return me to my mother, THE QUEEN!" calls us commoners...

Followed by him winking at the Queen, and the line "she gave me a look that a mother would give a child" (roughly).
It doesn't get funnier than that Cube.
