Orympic Bible Banning

Have you heard about this?

The Bible Among Objects Prohibited At The 2008 Beijing Olympics Village

For "security reasons", no less.

The Catholic News Agency reported this on November 2nd, and if true, why hasn't it received more widespead attention?

That's a rhetorical question.

BTW are they banning the koran too?

When I heard that the ChiComs had been awarded the 2008 Olympics, I knew it was a monumentally stupid idea on many levels.

Rhetorical, indeed!

They probably won't ban the Koran because athletic trials hack allah off.

Bill Donohue of the Catholic League said it best, "Catholics don't go after you with machetes."

Have I missed stories about explosives hidden in Bibles? Suicide Bible carriers?

shouldn't that be "biber" banning?

I reckon it's because they don't want any nasty Christian teachings left behind when the international athletes leave.

You know: starts off with one little bible, then they'll want churches, then they'll want, you know, the right to think for themselves, and the right not to murder baby girls, and stuff.

And on it goes.

These things must be thwarted before they start!!

Hey Cube. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We may disagree on Kucinich but right on for the Bible in China. Freedom of religion would bring the house down.

Actually, the Chinese are one of the few nations that are evil to islam. They hate all religions and don't care too much about world opinion. So, I'd say if they don't ban the koran, it's because they've disallowed any muslim athletes to participate.

This bit of "news" is false. Not sure what's been going on here in China the last couple days, but there have been a few false stories going around (another was about a space station project or something in the next year). It is legal to bring in ONE Bible per person when entering China. Plus, there are a few churches in Beijing that cater to foreigners. But, foreigners and Chinese can not attend the same church.
