I'm remembering a spate of female head shavings, the most recent one, Elia on Top Chef (Yes, I'm a big fan). She did it because she had always wanted to do it & she knew that the older she got, the harder it would be for her to do it. I say, you go girl.
I also remember Demi Moore shaving her head, but don't remember the reason, perhaps for a movie role.
I don't think it's so crazy. Your hair will grow back.
In Britney's case, I think it's all about 'LOOK AT ME!' and I think that's a bit pathetic.
demi did it for the movie "g.i. jane" and she's a natural beauty. brooke cannot pull this off - you know she also went haywire and got two tattoos within the same moments?
she doesn't even care that she may lose her children in this mess she's made for herself - more power to k-fed!
I'm not a Brit fan, but I'm actually a little worried about her. I hope she isn't dead within the year. Her behavior seems to be the kind that gravitates toward an eventual OD.
In perspective: girl sits in car in tears, waiting for the owner of a locked hairdresser to come and open up shop, just for her. Girl asks hairdresser to shave her hair off. Hairdresser declines. Girl takes clippers and does the job herself. Starts crying about - oh look what I've done, mum won't like this. Girl goes off and gets a new tattoo.
If it was your next door neighbour, who also happened to have checked in and out of rehab in the blink of an eye, had two tiny tots, had filed for divorce only a couple of months ago, spending the subsequent months partying into the early hours of the morning with whatever strangers will hang out with her ... eventually culminating in the shaved head ...
This is no longer looking like a rich young women letting hair down - or off - does it?
You don't need to be a psychologist or a psychiatrist, or a family member, or a genius to appreciate that this is one very troubled women. Who knows, she may have serious post-natal depression, undiagnosed and unsupported by appropriate medical care - not "rehab" - medical care, big differnce.
It's not a pretty thing to see anyone's personal breakdown being so wildly and widely document for public consumption.
My only question is: where the hell is her family? Long overdue for them to step in with emotional and practical support, with some doctors tagging very closely behind.

Well at least now we know her head doesn't actually come to a point... she just acts like a pinhead.
It seemed like a good idea at the time... Yeah.
Does she fancy herself the next Sinead?
I hadn't seen this ... with all the Anna Nicole media whoring, I guess it pushed other celebrity burnouts to the back page.

Whatever, it's not my head.

nanc: I'm not defending this nitwit. I don't care one way or the other. I'm just hoping this isn't a new fad... I have two daughters.
