Most of you have noticed my recent absence... No, I wasn't in rehab
;-)
Meet Elke, our new puppy. At 8 weeks old she's 14.1 lbs. of perpetual motion
that requires much supervision.
It's been 7 years since Dax was a puppy, so we had forgotten the horrors of housebreaking. Piddle & poop patrol is ongoing, and time-consuming.
Posting may be light for a while. Please bear with me.

Speaking of bear....that's one HUGE puppy.
That's one adorable puppy!
Mazel Tov!..lol..shes a beaut Cube!
What a cutie-pie face! Happy puppy too!
Congrats, a good reason to be off non-blogging, mommy duties do come first!
tmw
PS-IFFFFFFFF, you get tired of her....I'm straight east of you!
Well Doggone ebuc! Ain't he just the cutest little puppy!!
What a darling!
Is he a German Shepherd?
How are your cats faring with this new addition?
Um, she, not he.
hey CUBE!!!! Long time to talk!!!
Congrats - what an adorable Shep!!!
I love German Shepherd Dogs, I had one years ago! The best dogs!!!
A very worthy distraction indeed!
Hiya Elke!
Cube, she is adorable. I can see why you are busy.
Give her a scratch on the belly from me.
Enjoy the puppy days, they go by so fast.
Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations!
Do you pronounce that "elk-ee" or "elk-uh?"
Awwwww! Congrats! There's just nothing as cute as a baby animal! :)
Good luck with the supervision! Prevention is worth a pound of cure, or in this case, a gallon of enzyme cleaner.
Beautiful! I have 2 words for you..
PUPPY PADS!
They will make your life so much easier:>)
cube - did you censor out my "you know, he's going to grow up and be a dog?" comment?
something strange - almost every comment i made yesterday during a particular time frame disappeared from every place i visited! ratz...you don't suppose they're watching me...
phoenix: yes, she's going to be a big girl.
leslie: adorable AND a handful :-)
woman: thanks.
tmw: you know it. They require constant supervision because mischief is around the corner.
kathy: Elke thanks you, but says to remind you that she's a she. I don't think she'll hold it against you since she looks much like her brothers ;-)
aow2: she's a German shepherd.
The cats are reacting differently:
Felix, the big, 'fraidy male is running away as fast as he can.
Kinky, the tortie, is curious & not afraid, but then, she is the queen.
Pepper, the semi-feral gray tabby, is curious, but keeping her distance.
It's only been a week so who knows how they will feel when they're used to her.
rgmb: hey stranger! Good to hear from you. Hope you're well.
Yes, shepherds are wonderful dogs. I've loved the breed all my life.
voracious: worthy, but exhausting :-)
raggedy: you are so right. Puppyhood goes by in a blink of an eye. Before too long, I won't be able to pick her up anymore!
jen: thanks. Good question. We are pronouncing it el-kee. My girls are pushing for the more phonetic spelling of El-kie, but I'm pushing for the traditional spelling.
brooke: lol! We're watching her like a hawk. She seems very smart though, so we think she'll catch on before too long.
eyes: we tried puppy pads with Dax & she always managed to miss the pad. We take Elke outside frequently & don't let her run around the house unsupervised.
nanc: I never saw your pithy comment
:-)
I would never censor you. It must've been the black helicopter crowd ;-)
Congratulations on being the owner of a real animal! That's excellent. I always thought you were solely a cat person.
Lovely looking mutt, friendly face.
caz: I love all kinds of animals. In addition to my 3 cats, I also have a 7 year old German Shepherd named Dax. The new puppy is getting under her skin at times. Elke can be a real pest.
