No Need To Know

NBC Says It Debated for Hours Whether To Air Shooter's Images

Yeah, and then they went ahead and aired the ramblings of a psycho murderer.

RATINGS BLOWOUT FOR NBC NEWS... 7.4 RATING/15 SHARE FOR BRIAN WILLIAMS AND CHO TAPES.

This is outrageous. The public doesn't have a need to know this, and this deranged loser doesn't need to be heard.

I don't believe them for one second. They "debated for hours," and NO ONE thought that this might be a stupid idea?!?

Riiiiiight.

They couldn't WAIT to get those ratings.

Exactly. And all without thought or care that the notoriety might tempt other deranged losers to do the same thing.

I posted on the fact that I didn't even want the murderer's name mentioned. I thought I was alone in that. Then I heard Michael Medved talking about it. He won't even say the mass murderer's name.

No wonder I like his show so much. Can't catch it often, but really like it.

I live in the area, and we have seen too much of this stuff already just from the local news(who, btw, have shown great restraint in their reporting). I don't believe for one second that they even debated this. Every network and third-rate cable channel has descended on Blacksburg like vultures and have no regard for those involved. All they care about is ratings.

Them showing the footage doesn't anger me other than I hate that the families and loved ones of those killed and injured see nothing but that evil psycho's face splashed all over the TV.
I also think the more it is shown, the more other like-minded sociopaths may try and emulate him.
Also, by showing it, it glorifies him which is what he wanted.
Overall, I guess I think the news programs have the right to air or not air the footage, and we have a right to watch it or not.
I've seen only a little bit of it and that is more than enough for me.

bw: Medved is a very thoughtful host. He shows infinite patience with callers who disagree with his POV. He decimates their arguments but he always does it with class.

bruce: Thank you for sharing your unique perpective.

j.d.: I think it's wrong to pay 24/7 attention to the killer. I'd rather hear about Prof. Librescu's life.

Brooke said...

Amen to that.

Librescu was buried in Israel today, and his wife of over 40 years chocked up when she was given his wedding band.

If Cho wasn't dead, I'd want to kill him myself.

brooke: I saw the clip of Mrs. Librescu. Very sad.

As a Holocaust survivor, her husband was no stranger to evil. He knew what to do when he stared into it's dead eyes.

God bless him for saving some of those children.

You aren't alone. I read today that freak Cho's grandfather called Cho an SOB & that he was glad he was dead.

at least Talk radio let everyone know what garbage NBC truly is yesterday Cube..!

angel: You're right. And NBC had to back off a bit. Talk radio is our most powerful ally. That's why the left hates it so much.

Believe it or not, there's even worse than NBC out there. In their rush to give the Tech killer his 15 minutes, CTV included pictures in their broadcast of an innocent man, former Tech student Wayne Chaing.

For me, this is simple: NBC should not have aired the video. Watch for copycats over the next few weeks. There are lots of disturbed kids out there, looking for their opportunity to be famous--dead or alive.

darrell: was he the guy with all the rifles over his shoulder? He didn't look like freak Cho to me.

aow2: Prophetic words, indeed. There have been incidents already & there will be more.

These monsters are narcissistic enough. They don't need notoriety.
