We have a special ornament on our Christmas tree this year... a German shepherd with wings and a halo.
As some of the readers of The BLOG know, we lost our beloved
Dax in
February and this will be our first Christmas without her.
Dax would go to great lengths to earn the words, "good girl", but she had a weakness for Christmas ornaments. We'd get home and often find a chewed up assortment. We learned to put the priceless ones near the top half and the expendable ones within her reach.
This year our ornaments hang safely on our Christmas tree, but I would gladly sacrifice a ton of them just to have our Dax back with us.
Sadly, we will have settle for knowing that angel Dax watches over us and waits for us on the
Rainbow Bridge .
[The BLOG note: Hat tip to rgmb for sending me the Rainbow Bridge poem.]
