Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... after the sad news from the Star Trek world this week, I thought it would be appropriate to highlight Lieutenant M'Ress, the feline relief Communication Officer of the USS Enterprise in The Animated Series who was voiced by Majel Barret Roddenberry.

It's Friday...

:-(

Cube,

Your Star Trek news, references, metaphors and alliterations are first rate. And eulogizing this remarkable lady is fully in keeping with your admiration for the institution of Trek as well.

She was special, particularly so, in my recollection, with her refusal to ape the idiotic Gypsy accent of her daughter Deanna Troy, on Next Generation!

I'll miss her too,

Giancarlo: I think that the fact that I don't speak Italian would be problematic. Thanks for asking though.

QQ: She went way too soon. That's for sure. I didn't even know she was ill.

That is a favorite behind the scenes Trek tales of mine as well.
Of course, being Mrs. Star Trek, she could tell the Great Bird of the Galaxy a thing or too, and when she decided she wouldn't adopt an accent, it was so.

I hope their son takes the same good care of the franchise as his mom did after his dad died.

this is awesome, you found 47 also! I didn't know very many people knew about it.

Michael P.: Thank you. I do think that most true Trek fans know about 47. It is ubiquitous in all Trek iterations.

I never got to see much of the animated series. I always loved her Lwaxana Troi character. The fact that she did so many different things on the shows was cool.

Michael P: Sounds like you're into satire which is good too.

Ratty: You get the prize for spelling the name right.

It is Lwaxana Troi.

Because of family obligations and Christmas preparations, I didn't know about Majel Barret Roddenberry's passing. How sad. I am a fan of only the original Star Trek and admired her greatly.

I spelled it Lwuxana Troi for years and years. Until I looked it up a couple of days ago.
