Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... a cat who didn't vote for Obama. Yeah, it's been a rough couple of weeks for those who did.

:-)

Happy Friday, everybody!

PC Problem

The Lesson Of An Affirmative Action President

State Of The Union: How Did He Do?

These two articles dovetail nicely... not only is BO an affirmative action president, but, after hearing him lecture the Supreme Court Justices, he has proved himself to be an affirmative action law professor too.

God bless America.

Big Wind Passes

When I took this photo in 2008, it turns out the record had already been broken by a
253 mph gust recorded in 1996 on Barrow Island in Australia during Cyclone Olivia.

231-mph NH Wind Gust Is No Longer World's Fastest

Officials at the Mount Washington Observatory said "Mount Washington still holds the record for the Northern and Western hemispheres, and said it still can claim to be home to some of the world's worst weather given the combination of bitter cold, snow, wind and freezing fog it frequently experiences."

6288 feet of harrowing climb for a broken record? I feel cheated.

Hopeium

A short but sweet entry from BigJournalism.com:

What A Bringdown: Did The MSM Get Too High On Hopeium?

Hopeium is a great word. Wish I had thought of it.

And it's too late to claim Changeium now ;-)

Ellie Light?

I've been following the saga of Ellie Light for some days now...

Ellie Light: Dozens More Sightings Of Obama's Most Prolific Letter-writing Fan

It occurs to me that there is very little vetting of people who send letters to the editor in newspapers all over this country and some around the world. Pravdaesque journalism lives in America ... and they wonder why newspaper circulation is down?

Just for fun I checked into anagrams of "Ellie Light" and my favorites are "Lie Get Hill" and "He Ill Legit" .

I will keep an eye on whatever Ellie Light turns out to be.

An Eventful Week

"You know, this is an amazing week. Massachusetts goes Republican, health care dies and the Supreme Court unshackles the First Amendment. It's the best week I've had since spring break in medical school -- and I don't even remember it." -- Charles Krauthammer

Krauthammer Quips: 'Best Week I've Had Since Spring Break in Medical School'

Too bad the stock market had its worst week in a year. Everything else was going so well...

Beware Of The Blob!

Doctor's Office Hit By Meteorite

OK, this is how it all began in The BLOB.

Beware of the BLOB! It creeps, and leaps, and glides and slides across the floor and out the door.

Whatever you do, don't touch it!

No Surprise

I had this video of Ed Schultz advocating for voter fraud racked up for yesterday, but I got too busy to post it.

It was a momentary lapse of 'truthiness' from the left.

Go Scott Brown!

East Boston Cat Called To Jury Duty

Hmmm, I wonder if Sal will vote for Scott Brown in the upcoming election for the vacated Senate seat?

Happy Friday, everybody!

Sanctioned Thuggery

House Resolution 994, Directing the Attorney General to transmit to the House of Representatives all information in the Attorney General's possession relating to the decision to dismiss United States v. New Black Panther Party was rejected.

House Panel Rejects Black Panther Resolution: Vote 15-14

I want to know which representatives voted to reject it, which ones voted for it, and the ones who didn't bother to show up or just voted 'present'. I've searched several sites, even opencongress.org , but haven't found the roll call list.

I will keep looking and will post an update when I find it.

Iron Chumps

I didn't watch the Iron Chef "White House Garden" special because I suspected that it would be a political stunt that has no business on a food network show. I was right.

First, it was billed as using vegetables from the White House garden which the celebrity chefs picked with MO's permission. This, in and of itself, is a crock because those vegetables are toxic.

Michelle Obama's Toxic Veggie Nightmare: White House Organic Garden Polluted With Sludge

Second, they ended up using stunt vegetables but didn't announce that bothersome fact on the show. They played along with the sham that is the White House garden.

Iron Chef Special Used Ringers, Not Veggies From The White House Garden

I expect lies, smoke and mirrors, and misdirection from the Obamas, but not from the Food Network.

Shame on you.

Girl Power

Girl Beats Boys To Pluck Cross From Water In Albania

Good for, 16-year-old Katerina Munguli, who beat a dozen boys and men diving for the cross from the bottom of a wintry Ionian Sea.

I can't read or see anything about Albania without this bit of doggerel going through my head:

"Albania, Albania, it borders on the Adriatic. Its land is mostly mountainous, and its chief export is chrome."

Does anyone out there know where that comes from?

So Sorry

Reid Apologizes For 'No Negro Dialect' Comment

OK, so Obama gives Harry Reid a pass on his racist remarks, but Republicans had to fire Trent Lott?

Obama In '02: 'The Republican Party Itself Has To Drive Out Trent Lott'

Comon, people, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Hope + Change = Chope and thats just one letter away from Choke.

The Climate Alarm Zone

Submitted for your approval:

A very enjoyable article where anthropogenic global warming hysteria "crosses over from The Twilight Zone's land of both shadow and substance to the equally fantastic Climate Alarm Zone."

Lessons To Be Learned In The Climate Alarm Zone

Even the comments at the end of the article were good.

From NoHyphenJustAmerican: "Plato said that what matters most is: who is teaching the children, and what are they teaching?"

Another from CraigZ: "To protect my children from being unduly frightened that we face the imminent extinction of the polar bear, I explained to them that since the climate was much warmer during the Medieval Warming Period the polar bears died out around 1000 AD."

Pass this article along to the educators and parents that you know.

Grave Mistake

From Crimesider comes this gruesome story about a New Mexico family that was given a bag containing their mother's brain by a funeral home.

Suit: Funeral Homes Sent Mother's Brain to Family in a Bag

It does sound like something out of a Stephen King book, but does it rise to the level of a law suit?

Sheen Shunned

Hanes Drops Ads Featuring Charlie Sheen

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Those ads where Sheen tried to insinuate himself into Michael Jordan's life for some kind of weird bromance thing revolving around underwear were just plain stupid.

I, for one, am glad Hanes gave Sheen the Tiger Woods boot.

White House Love Child

Obama's budget director dumped his then-pregnant girlfriend and is now engaged to an ABC reporter he met during last year's White House Correspondents Dinner.

Peter Orszag Love Child! What?!

I didn't know that wearing a hair cap and dweebish glasses made a guy a hit with the ladies.

Obama sure knows how to pick administration officials.

Realization About My Cat

My cat sleeps about 20 hours a day. She has her food prepared for her. She can eat whenever she wants, 24/7/365. Her meals are provided at no cost to her. She visits the doctor once a year for her checkup and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this she pays nothing and nothing is required of her.

She lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than she needs but she is not required to do any upkeep. If she makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. She has her choice of luxurious places to sleep. She receives these accommodations absolutely free. She is living like a queen and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of her costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.

I was just thinking about all this and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the
head,

"HOLY S#!t, MY CAT IS A DEMOCRAT!"

[The BLOG note: This came to me via email from my F-I-L, but I changed it to cat from dog because I think the label applies better to cats.]

Birthday Cube

Today is my birthday.

Happy, happy. Joy, joy!

I will be relaxing with a good book, drinking adult beverages, eating cake and chinese food, but not necessarily in that order ;-)
