Cut And Run Dems

On Tuesday I posted about the Democrats cut and run strategeria...

On Thursday, President Bush said:

"Democrats offer nothing but criticism and obstructionism and endless second-guessing. The party of FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt), the party of Harry Truman, has become the party of cut and run."

Do you suppose he reads The BLOG?

I can dream can't I? ;-)

Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... hypoallergenic cats

Yes, it's true. These cats have been selectively breed to have a reduction in a type of protein that triggers allergic reactions.

To each his own, but at nearly $4000 a piece, I think I'll stick to the regular kitties.

Happy Friday, everybody!

Porky's Friends

A January 2003 Weekly Standard article entitled Horror in Venezuela: Jesus Soriano and the price of dissent in Hugo Chavez's Venezuela by Thor L. Halvorssen puts the recent comments by the Caracas Crackpot in an even more ridiculous light.

Where do Chavez's liberal friends stand on the Venezuelan government's prosecution of dissenters, not to mention terrorists?

Well, 168 members of the House of Representatives voted against the President's terrorist prosecution bill.

I guess we know where they stand too...

Dems Strategeria

Saw a headline on The Drudge Report that read: Dem (Charlie) Rangel Promises To Cut Off Funding For War In Iraq If Dems Win House .

This ominous headline speaks for itself.

Roach Eating Contest

Yes this buggy story is true. Six Flags Great America is offering visitors of its Halloween-themed FrightFest a chance to get out of waiting in long lines to get on rides. From October 7 through October 29, customers who eat a live 3 inch Madagascar hissing cockroach get unlimited line-jumping privileges for themselves and four others.

Six Flags spokesman James Taylor says he's hoping somebody can beat the British man who currently holds the cockroach-eating world recorded - 36 roaches, recorded in the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records.

Don't hold your breath, dude.

The Wrath Of Bubba

If you missed Chris Wallace encountering the wrath of Bubba, you can see it here .

At RealClearPolitics, Ronald A. Cass makes some choice comments about Bubba's "bevy of startlingly anti-factual remarks" in Bill Clinton: Play It as It Lies , with lies being the operative word.

Lies. Lies. And more lies.

What did you expect? Bubba's lips were moving.

Wish List

Things Hugo Chavez should pray for:

1. A brain composed of more than two neurons where one isn't inhibitory.

2. Spincter control. The sulphur you smell, Hugo, is emanating from your own rectal
orifice.

3. Manners.

4. That Americans continue to buy Citgo gas.

I heard on the radio that 7/11 plans to sever its association with Citgo as of Jauary 1, 2007. I, for one, plan to start right now. I will not put one more penny into this thug's pocket.

Big Fat Fomentor

Anjem Choudary, the bloviating loud mouth who has called for the execution of the Pope has a long history of fomenting unrest , including organizing protests in Denmark over the Mohammed cartoons, and supporting the London 7/7 bombings.

It now comes out that he also happens to have a decidedly unholy past , which, in typical hypocrite fashion, he denies, but which his friends have exposed.

For the life of me, I can't understand how British tax dollars go to support this filth, his wife and family, while he is free to foment hatred full-time.

I don't get it.

Arrrrgh!

Oriana Fallaci 1930-2006

I couldn't let this pass without a mention. Sadly, Italian journalist, writer and former war correspondent, Oriana Fallaci has died.

I posted about her in May here and urged everyone to learn more about this wonderful woman's life and career.

She will be missed.

Deceptive Advertising

Guess where I most decidedly will not be tomorrow night?

I have more important things to do than listen to a bunch of hypocrites sit around and lie.

And a moslem comedian? Oh please!

Conspiracy Theories

This is getting tedious, but...

*Yet Another Stupid Chavez Comment Alert*

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez recently revealed that it isn't absurd to believe that the Twin Towers could have been dynamited, "A building never collapses like that, unless it's with an implosion," Chavez told supporters.

Read the rest of his absurd remarks at Theory that U.S. orchestrated Sept. 11 attacks 'not absurd': Venezuela

I would like to send Chavez a copy of "Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can't Stand Up To Facts" by the editors of Popular Mechanics, John McCain, David Dunbar, and Brad Reagan...

...but I'm afraid the cretin doesn't know how to read.

Snake Oil Bracelet

Q-Ray Buyers Misled

U.S. District Judge Morton Denlow ordered QT Inc. of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and its owner, Que Te Park, to refund more than 100,000 buyers of the bracelets -- priced up to $249.95 -- and forfeit profits of $22.6 million earned between 2000 and 2003.

According to Judge Denlow, the Q-Ray bracelet doesn't really quell pain.

No duh.

This case illustrates the power of infomercials that run in the wee hours and pummel poor insomniacs with empty promises that are too good to be true.

Solidarity

From WSJ Opinion Journal.com comes Christopher Hitchins' spot on editorial, Solidarity: Our first duty is to stand together against bin Ladenism , whice deals with the need to stand together not just as Americans, but, in this global war on terror, as the side that stands for freedom.

Today, as I am flooded with images of that fateful day five years ago, my anger rages not only at the barbaric islamofascists, but also against those dim-witted liberals that enable the side of the terrorists with their PC politics, and the gutlessness of cut-and run policies in the face of this global threat.

Until these liberals stand with us against terror, I refuse to call them anything but traitors to America.

Never Forget

Earthquake

An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in the Gulf of Mexico about 250 miles south-southwest of Apalachicola, Florida today at 10:56:07 AM EDT.

This earthquake was felt in parts of Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

I didn't feel a thing, but so much for my comfort zone about earthquakes being something I didn't have to worry about as a Floridian.

Apologies?

From David S. Broder of The Washington Post comes
this article
about the apologies due Karl Rove now that Richard Armitage has been identified as the leaker in the Wilson/Plame non-affair.

Broder brings up a few ludicrous statements from ex-Clinton aide, Sidney Blumenthal, and this choice one from Newsweek: "in a July 25, 2005, cover story on Rove, after dutifully noting that Rove's lawyer said the prosecutor had told him that Rove was not a target of the investigation, added: "But this isn't just about the Facts, it's about what Rove's foes regard as a higher Truth: That he is a one-man epicenter of a narrative of Evil."

Shades of fake but accurate again.

Broder dismisses these conspiracy theories as "silliness", but I disagree. I believe these articles were deliberate and premeditated attempts by the liberal MSM to destroy Karl Rove's reputation and weaken the Bush administration.

No silliness here at all.

Gobstoppers

Hard to believe that society has sunk this low, but busdrivers in London are being equipped with DNA kits so they can test saliva from being spat upon by passengers.

I wonder if these spitting incidents are being carried out by the "disaffected European youths" or, my favorite, the "disaffected Asian youths" we hear so much about in the news?

W On GWOT

Just in case you missed it yesterday, go here for a transcript of President Bush's speech on terrorism.

The President lays it out clearly for all to hear... especially the cut and run Democrats.

Smack Down

Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government has invited ex-Iranian President (er, might I also add... dictator, despot, tyrant, terrorist) Khatami to speak on Sunday, the eve of September 11th. Khatami will give a lecture titled "Ethics of Tolerance in the Age of Violence."

Yeah, right.

According to the Boston Globe here Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has declared that he would not allow any state resources to be used to protect Khatami.

I hope that hand over Khatami's head is setting up to bash in his ugly head.

Then, smack down the dolt at Harvard who had this bright idea.

Sheesh.

Extreme Origami

From Discover.com comes The Extreme Sport of Origami a fascinating article about breakthroughs in creating complex origami shapes.

Shown above is a chinese dragon by master origamist Satoshi Kamiya who prefers to make his models without the aid of any computer program.

Click on the dragon to see the intricate detail.

Wow. That puts my flying crane to shame.

Lefty Hate

From Frontpagemag.com comes Moving On to Anti-Semitism by Robert Golden, which effectively chronicles the looney left's increasingly outspoken anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Shocking comments which never make the MSM.

An American In Iran

From The Washington Post comes A Different Face of Iran a special report by Stephen Knipp, who spent 2 weeks there and found many pro-American Iranians.

Knipp makes some interesting points, especially about the women who were not afraid to voice their opinions.

Look at the geography. Once the governments of neighboring Iraq and Afghanistan are stabilized and free, how much more will the Iranians chafe under their oppressive mullah-controlled government? This motivation could provide the tipping point in Iran.
