Resounding Resolution

The House voted 246-182 against Resolution 63 yesterday.

Click Here To See All The Votes

I've come to expect this type of shamefully treasonous behavior from democrats, but it's surprising to see 17 republicans vote this way.

Here's a list:

- Mike Castle (R-DE)
- Howard Coble (R-NC)
- Tom Davis (R-VA)
- John Duncan (R-TN)
- Phil English (R-PA)
- Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD)
- Bob Inglis (R-SC)
- Timothy V. Johnson (R-IL)
- Walter B. Jones (R-NC)
- Rick Keller (R-FL)
- Mark Kirk (R-IL)
- Steven LaTourette (R-OH)
- Ron Paul (R-TX)
- Tom Petri (R-WI)
- Jim Ramstad (R-MN)
- Fred Upton (R-MI)
- Jim Walsh (R-NY)

They may argue that it's a non-binding resolution and that it does not affect their support of the troops.

Baloney! This moronic gesture is symbolic of an attitude of resounding defeat and serves only to embolden the enemy.

The Senate is calling a special Saturday session to vote on the measure. Let's hope these republicans show more backbone.

Year Of The Pig

Two Pigs 'Tie The Knot' In Taiwan

No, not the wedding of Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell... these are physiologically correct pigs... and the wedding is a charity event which is part of the festivities heralding the beginning of the Year of the Pig which begins on February 18th.

Let the celebration of pigs and pork products begin.

And Now For Something Completely Different...

We recently exposed our daughters to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Needless to say, they laughed themselves silly, and were glad to finally understand the silly references we've been making to it all these years.

So when we heard that Spamalot was coming to our area, we made arrangements to take the girls.

It was great fun. We all loved it. There was much loving homage to the film, and a few musical numbers that had nothing at all to do with it but were thrown in for gratuitous humor. The production values and the cast were excellent.

If you're a Monty Python fan, it's definitely worth catching.

New Addition To The Family

Most of you have noticed my recent absence... No, I wasn't in rehab
;-)

Meet Elke, our new puppy. At 8 weeks old she's 14.1 lbs. of perpetual motion
that requires much supervision.

It's been 7 years since Dax was a puppy, so we had forgotten the horrors of housebreaking. Piddle & poop patrol is ongoing, and time-consuming.

Posting may be light for a while. Please bear with me.

Hillary-Lite

A biting piece about Hill's "merciless, unapologetic, chisel-eyed" pursuit of power and political transformation by Jan Moir

Whom Does Hillary Think She's Fooling?

Here's a juicy tidbit: "Everything Mrs Clinton now does and says is a deliberate political statement, from the honey streaks in her hairdo to the girly pinks she chooses to camouflage herself in, although the effect of the latter is unconvincing: think killer shark prowling the shallows in a party frock."

Moir does have a way with words and she doesn't mince any here.

Duck Ducks Death Again!

You've all heard about the ringneck duck who survived being shot, dragged by a dog, and then being kept in a refridgerator for 2 days...

Well, Perky, cheated death again... Duck Ducks Death A Third Time!

Apparently she died during surgery to fix her broken wing and was resuscitated by the veterinarian.

Wow, that Perky has more lives than a cat.

Speed Blinker

I watched the State of the Union speech on FOX News Channel last night, but the folks at B&C Beat blog made an interesting observation about Speaker Pelosi and Vice President Cheney's blinking patterns:

"What was worth commenting on, however, was the contrast in blinks per minute between Pelosi and Cheney. While Pelosi clocked a good 25-30 blinks per minute, Cheney barely mustered 3 or 4."

It made me think of another sobriquet for the Speaker... Nancy Hyperlosi.

Billary Busted...Again.

The article:
On Web, Voters Question Clinton Directly by Patrick Healy at The NY Times isn't anywhere near as fun to read as the Lucianne's Threads about it.

Her Phoniness is busted again, this time about her favorite movies, for Pete's sake.

If you lie about something as inconsequential as that, you're just incapable of telling the truth about anything.

Dog Beer

Does it look like Fido got into the doggie beer?

Pet Shop Owner Creates Beer For Dogs. It's made from beef extract and malt, and it's nonalcoholic...

Whew, that's comforting. Goodness knows the world doesn't need alcoholic dogs driving themselves to rehab in Lindsay Lohan fashion.

...and at $2.14 a bottle, it's too pricey for my dog. OK, maybe one bottle for her Christmas stocking ;-)
