Jane Fonda As Nancy Reagan

There wasn't another actress in the world to play Nancy Reagan other than this effing traitor?

Poke in the conservative eye.

For a person who barely spoke during the Zimmerman trial, Rachel Jeantel has been yakking up a storm.

My goodness, when will it end?

I won't give this Rolling Stone cover photo any more publicity. If you want to see it, go to the following site...

The Bomber: New Rolling Stone Cover Gives Boston terrrorist - Dzhokhar Tsarnaev - The Rock Star Treament

It's clear that creating buzz to sell magazines is more important to Rolling Stone than considering the feelings of the victims of this terrorist act.

If You Think You're No. 1 On Mosquito Hit List, You May Not Be Crazy

Mosquitoes drive my sister crazy. She will hit you if she sees a mosquito around you. I prefer the mosquito bite to her thunderous whack! Yikes!

Obama Claims Broccoli Is His Favorite Food

I like to eat veggies, I like broccoli, I even like brussels sprouts, but I wouldn't say they're my favorite food when I'm stuffing my mouth with everything but...

What a ... I'll just control myself and call him a liar.

Happy Ending

I posted about The Sorry End Of The Galileo Shuttlecraft before...

Some Star Trek fans took the matter into their own hands and fixed the problem and now the Galileo will reside in a museum.

Got Grapes?

This is the latest crop of grapes from our grape vines...

It reminds me of an old joke:

A duck walks into a bar and asks, "Got grapes?"

The bartender, confused, tells the ducks that no, his bar doesn't serve grapes. The duck thanks him and leaves.

The next day, the duck returns and asks, "Got grapes?"

Again, the bartender tells him that, no, the bar does not serve grapes, has never served grapes, and, furthermore, will never serve grapes. The duck, a little ruffled, thanks him and leaves.

The next day, the duck returns, but before he can say anything, the bartender begins to yell: "Listen, duck! This is a bar! We do not serve grapes! If you ever ask for grapes again, I will nail your stupid duck beak to the bar!"

The duck looks at the bartender and asks, "Got nails?"

Surprised, the bartender says, “No, we don’t have any nails.”

“Good," the duck says, "Got grapes?”

It's an oldie but a goody.

Perigee Moon

Supermoon 2013 Peaks This Weekend: Don't Miss It

I was locking up last night when Elke, my German Shepherd, gave me a baleful stare which usually means she wants to go out. So, she and I went outside and it was very quiet and peaceful. I noticed how beautifully bright the moon was.

Turns out the full moon on June 23rd will be the largest full moon of the year, as well as the closest the moon will come to our planet in all of 2013.

So, grab your honey, and get out there and catch nature's beauty.

Huntsman

Last night I came across an Heteropoda venatoria also known as a huntsman spider or a giant crab spider and my husband was asleep so I didn't have the heart to call upon him for one of his husbandly duties.

This spider was huge and it's eyes glinted at me. I was scared, but I managed to kill it with my daughter's shoe.

I'll never forget those shiny eyes...

Naked Acrobat Terrorizes BART Riders At SF Station

I fear an armed man more than a naked one. I would've kicked this moron in the nuts and waited for the police to arrive.

Remember what Joseph Heller, who wrote "Catch 22" said, "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you.”

Try to have a happy Friday anyway.

Timely Stuff

George Orwell's "1984" Was Published 64 Years Ago Today

"George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four was published on this date in 1949 (books by this author). Nineteen Eighty-Four begins with this famous line: "It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen." Orwell wrote most of the novel on the island of Jura in the Scottish Hebrides; grieving the loss of his wife and overwhelmed with all the demands on his time that arose from the success of Animal Farm (1945), he retreated there with his son. The weather was bad, and so he stayed inside and wrote. He kept on with the book even as he became more and more ill with tuberculosis. He died in 1950, less than a year after the book was published."

Orwell said: On the whole, human beings want to be good — but not too good, and not quite all the time.

Times have changed...
