Great American Clean-Up

Litter bugs me! Does it bug you? If so, participate in the next Great American Clean-Up. It's easy to volunteer. You pick a location in your area and you pick up trash on the designated day. Easy.

My daughters and I picked up bags and bags of trash all morning. We feel like we've done something good for the environment and we got these nice t-shirts. How good is that?

Now I'm ready to relax.

Good for you and daughter!

I’m still fighting WordPress at the new blog, but decided I needed to swing by blogroll buddies and say howdy!

Hope you have a terrific weekend - the weather in the KC area is spectacular!
Hugs,
Marti

Thanks, Marti. Nice to hear from you again.

Hope you get the upper hand with WordPress soon.

Cubicle - did you know that the "clean up" concept was started by an Aussie?

Yes, true, "Clean up Australia Day" was started - oooh, a couple of decades ago - and still happens every year. Other countries followed the concept.

If I wasn't so lazy I would look it up & tell you the guy's name ... he's still running things here, I think.

What a GREAT t-shirt, ey?

caz: I should've known.

woman: not unless you give me a free t-shirt ;-)

lammy: heh heh. The t-shirts were freebies given to the volunteers for helping. They were out of the diamond tiaras by the time we finished ;-)

That's cool!

We should do that with our homeschool group. We considered signing up to adopt a highway and have the kids do that periodically year 'round. But things have changed since we were kids, and now everyone has to go through training to learn how to recognize "trucker bombs" and worse, the deadly remains of meth labs. Yikes!

A park clean up or something would be cool, though.

jen: absolutely. We usually pick the coastline & its educational as well as fun.

Once you join, they send you postcards to let you know when the next clean-up is. If you can go, you go. There's no pressure. The kids will love the freebies too.

Good for you and Cubelings! That's something I would've liked to participate in too.

Seems I missed many a funny post of yours while I was away. :)

That's a great thing to do. Trash really irks me too. I'm constantly picking up litter.
