Cat Blog Friday

For this Cat Blog Friday...

... a Florida cat that knows how to handle pesky gators.

Happy Friday, everybody!

I will definitely enjoy the last peaceful Friday before Hurricane Dorian hits the state. After that, who knows...

Cats must like being out in hurricanes far less than prehistoric lizards do. I think that is something that I have in common with cats. Summer thunderstorms are cool, but a hurricane is taking things too far.

I liked sitting on the porch and watching the summer storms when I was stationed at NAS Pensacola. Some of them got very interesting - Thor and Odin taking on the ice giants up in the clouds, you see.

LL: I'm with you and Team Cats when it comes to hurricanes. I've lived through way too many living in Florida since 1968, but they come with the territory. We're as prepared as we can be, but deep down I know it's never enough if you get hit with the big one like Camille, Andrew, or Katrina.

Cool that you were stationed in Pensacola. Now is a good time for you to tell Thor and Odin to knock it off and unite to push Dorian off into the Atlantic.

Bwahahahahahahaha. That is one fearless cat. Loved it.

I also linked this post to Feline Friday.

Praying that you and yours are safe. ♥

Sandee: I so agree. If you translate from the Spanish header it reads, " Let's see, who is braver than this cat." Certainly not me.

Trust me, the cat is braver than i, i would have gladly let the gator have whatever it wanted!

I've seen more than one or two vids of cats educating crocs or alligators. Also cats taking down king cobras. They are very agile and talented.

PS - at 0.17 it looked like the gator was going to outflank the cat, but kitty was having none of it.

Messymimi: To be fair to alligators, they're not the horrific ravaging beasts that the media paints them to be. My husband was on a golf course watching the flight of a ball and he happened to look down to see a 3 foot gator sitting right by his foot. It could've hurt him, but it didn't.

The gator in the video could've destroyed that cat, but it didn't. Now I'm not advocating being friends with gators, but I would like to see more accurate reporting like this video.

Kid: The awesomeness of cats. 😍

Gators like most other animals, (unlike people) only kill when they have to - to survive.
