Wow, Great photos. Gotta tell ya, back in the early 70's were were driving on a two lane black top in Ohio headed back to Pittsburgh. Cars slowed to a crawl and we could see cars ahead of us driving around something in the road. It was night time. When it was our turn to see what was in the road, there was an owl standing in the middle of our lane and that sucker was taller than the hood of our car. Kid you not. Just standing there staring.
Kid:I remember years back, we went to the bird show @ Busch Gardens with my sister-in-law & she asked insightful bird questions. We got invited to a private show after the show. The staff kept bringing out the out most amazing birds. There were some small owls for sure, but there were some very, very large owls. Scary, big owls. They were as almost as large as the larger predatory birds, the falcons & hawks. They saved the best for last... the American Eagle was the crown jewel. What a wonderful show.

Gotta love owls, although i can appreciate that mice and other small varmints do not.
Messymimi: Absolutely. If I were a small mammal, I wouldn't love owls either.
