Are you sure this isn't a ruse to keep New Yorkers from moving down?

Bears in Florida??? Don't we have enough to contend with... snakes, gators, and plain 'ol bugs. Lots of bugs!!!

Sue Hanes: I'm about one and a half hours away from Longwood. Thankfully I've never seen a bear around here.

Woodsterman (Odie): We have to look over our shoulders all the time.

Jan: When I moved down here from New York nobody told me about da bears.

Robin: I agree. We have enough to contend with already... bears and gators and bugs, oh my!

Big bugs that fly at you kamikaze style like the persistent roach

Whoa. Just listened to that 911 call. Hopefully she is doing ok. i think of the white-gloved Mickey Mouse when I think of Florida, not of marauding wildlife. Yikes.

Bears can be nasty!

I dealt with one roaming in the suburbs back in 1980 or 1981.

Bears will attack even if unprovoked!

DaBlade: Living in the shadow of The Mouse is easier than living with marauding bears.

Always On Watch: I'm not familiar with bears, but I know enough to stay inside the house if I see one.

I had no idea I had to worry about bear attacks here in Florida.
