Pool Vortex Not Polar

The pool water temperature is too cold for swimming, so I amuse myself like this:

Just drag a plate through the water in the pool and watch the two vortices that form and travel the pool always staying together.

Too cool.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Woman Honor Thyself: You poor thing. This has been a rough winter for much of the country.

Spring has sprung here - everything is green and there are flowers everywhere, but the pool is too cold to swim in and I refuse to pay the usurious fees for a heater.

Sandee: It is way cool. I am like a little kid when it comes to science stuff like this. OK, I can't do much more than stick my feet in my pool right now, but I will try to eke out some enjoyment out of it nonetheless.

My husband, the polar bear from New Hampshire, is already eyeing the pool for swimming. I say, honey you have at it. I'll wait for the water temp to be more friendly to us humans ;)

So vortex is really a word? I thought it was just a global warming excuse.

Jan: Vortex is a totally true word, but polar vortex has a totally different connotation to a vortex in my pool. My vortex refers to a region that flows along an axis and it can be liquid, gas or plasma.

My vortices are way more fun and they don't cost taxpayers tons of money.

Nice! My cool pool trick is trying to get my 6 month old German Sheperd to NOT on the frozen pool. I just use a tarp and it is snow covered. I have tried correcting him all winter, even though it has been rock solid, but he occasionally forgets he is not supposed to walk there. Now we are starting to get a thaw and it is a little worrisome. In fairness to Zeke, he has yet to experience summer in Michigan and why that ground is hallowed.

Cube - I don't have a pool so I can't try this experience. Sounds interesting though. Seriously.

DaBlade: Awww, I love German Shepeherds. I've had many in my life, and right now our Elke just turned eight.

Zeke is just a puppy. Give him time. Once he figures out there's water in the pool, he might stay away. GSDs, at least mine, haven't big on water.

Update: My husband went swimming on Saturday, March 14th. Too cold for me, but hey, I'm not New Hampshire born and bred like he is.
