Creeping Devil

No worries. "The Creeping Devil" is a rare species of cactus that is not only capable of cloning itself to survive, but also of detaching from its major shoot to crawl across the desert over time

At least it's not a large flying bug.

It may be related to 'jumping cactus', also called chollo cactus, which is a nasty piece of work.

That's kind of creepy. I'd pass on this for my yard. Oh wait it would take over the neighborhood.

Have a fabulous day. ♥

Interesting. That's a new one. @LL - Living in AZ for 20 years I was familiar with the "jumping cactus" Chollo. If you got close enough to even touch one of the needles the part you touched would easily detach and stick to you. The needles are incredibly sharp too. I put a leather belt underneath one of the detached nodules, lifted the belt and saw that the needles easily went through the belt. Not to be trifled with.
