Dances With... Corpses?

Madagascar's Plague Spreading At An Alarming Rate

Madagascar has about 400 plague cases per year, or more than half the world’s total, according to a 2016 World Health Organization report.

Health officials suspect that the deadly plague sweeping Madagascar may have a particularly gruesome cause — a local tradition of dancing with dead bodies called “famadihana” and intended to honor their ancestors.

Plague That's Killed Scores Is Blamed On Dances With Corpses

"UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told reporters that only 26 percent of the $9.5 million needed to combat the outbreak of the often deadly disease has been received."

Seriously?

The UN and the World Health Organization are supposed to keep funneling money into this country despite these ghoulish and decidedly unhygienic practices?

Not all cultures are equal and the sooner multicultural relativity is tossed into the trash heap of history, the better.

Deathcare

An eye-opening article about modern day grave robbers known as body brokers:

Special Report: In The Market For Human Bodies, Almost Anyone Can Sell The Dead

"No federal law governs the sale of cadavers or body parts for use in research or education. Few state laws provide any oversight whatsoever, and almost anyone, regardless of expertise, can dissect and sell human body parts."

Something to think about before you donate your body to "science".

'I'd Burn The House Down If I Saw This': The Creepy Creature Terrorising Australia - But Can You Guess What It Is?

It is the Creatonotos gangis moth.

*shudder*

I wouldn't burn the house down because of it, but let's just say this moth and I wouldn't coexist peacefully. In my house, it would be belly up with little "X's" on it's eyes.

Friends In High Places

From /pol/NewsInfinity comes this: Remember when Oprah brought Harvey Weinstein a new victim?

I always wondered about the suspicious circumstances of her sudden death, but given today's headlines, perhaps a second look would be a good idea.

Pavlov's Cats?

My husband compelled me to watch this hilarious cat video. I found the video incredibly funny, but I would've called it more Skinner's operant conditioning than Pavlo's classical conditioning. That's just me.

Please don't let the science keep you from enjoying how these kitteh's antics and how their precious pumpkin hats made my October day.

Wise Up, Canada

"Bienvenue tout le monde" words from Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau himself...

CARNAGE IN CANADA Edmonton terror attack: Chaos in Canada as cops stabbed by man with ISIS flag and pedestrians ploughed into during terror attack "

I wonder how much Trudeau's liberal immigration policy is weighing on his mind today?

I don't know. He's still safe and sound, ensconced in his security detail, undamaged by the effects of his atrocious policies.

But hey, he wears hip socks.

Liberal Hypocrisy

Librarian Refuses Donation Of Dr. Seuss Books From Melania Trump, Citing 'Racist Propaganda'

Another hateful liberal showcases the hypocrisy of the left. It's OK for moochie obama to read Dr. Seuss to children, but when Melania Trump does it, it's deemed racist.

God help us, we're dealing with evil, conniving manipulators or the terminally stupid. Either way, roll up your pant legs 'cause the BS is overflowing the country.

Throw Back Thursday

From October 2008:

Super Cube

Back then I was sick of the MSM's fanatical love-fest with obama and I wanted to disengage from politics for a bit.

Today I'm sick of the fanatical left's monolithic hate-fest with Trump and I wanted to disengage from politics for a bit.

Funny how that worked out.

The BLOG note: Back in the day a dear blog friend and artist, MCF , drew his blog friends as super heroes and this was Super Cube according to him...

Well, he got the cube and the cat right.

Hope all is well with you MCF.

The Story Of Cats

The above nine pound cat looks like a fat domestic Maine Coon house cat, but you couldn't be more wrong. The Pallas cat is just one of the wonders of the cat world you'll discover while watching this two-part miniseries about the origin of cats.

The Story Of Cats

I watched Part One, Asia to Africa, on Saturday night and I found it to be an outstanding documentary about the origins of cats. No politics, just cats.

I can't wait to watch Part Two, Into The Americas.

If you have a cat, or have ever had a cat, or even if you're just curious about cats, this will give you new insights into cat behavior and it's definitely worth watching.

I'll never look at cats the same way.

A Fun Pop In Visit

This is the dog I would like to send to the house of the nasty ranter who yelled at a veteran and his service dog...

Who's Nasty?

Overreaction is an understatement when it comes to this woman. If you want to see the video, it's in the link. I don't want her nasty antics on The Blog:

End Of A Mission

Cassini, The NASA Spacecraft That Expanded The Search For Life Beyond Earth, Dies In Saturn’s Sky

Cassini was the largest outerplanetary spacecraft ever built and performed its near-20 year mission in exemplary fashion.

I admit I was little sad to see it go *poof*.

UPDATE: A reminder that Cassini's launch on 10/15/97 was very controversial because it carried 72 pounds of Plutonium 238. There were many protests and much vocal opposition to the mission. You think they feel foolish today? Nah.
