we buy the cheap wal-mart brand of bottled water - about half as much as the rest of them - but mostly for the ease of having bottled water - when we're through with them, i clean them with very hot water and allow them to dry, fill them halfway with tap water and put them in the freezer - when we need a bottle of water - VOILA! fill it the rest of the way up with tap water and you'll have an iced cold drink!

Cube,

On a related subject, am I the only person brave enought to point out how much Michigan congressman and justice committee chairman John Conyers sounds exactly like the terrfying Marvin the Martian?

Should we not tremble in our peril as he contemplates earth's destruction?

Also note- this didn't come from Brooke or AOW!

QQ-I think he's scarier than Marvin, Marvin had Bugs Bunny to deal with. Who will take on Conyers?
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I buy store brand only for the ease of packing hubby's lunches.

Other than that, you'd have to be nuts to think that you're getting anything besides tap water!

Wasn't there some talk awhile back about Aquafina coming from a spigot in Detroit?

When I’m not drinking vodka, I only drink TAP WATER, I believe all bottled waters are "rip offs"

Btw, Nanc sent me. Does that get me a discount on a Vodka on the rocks. But only Kettle One please.

No Brooke it was coming from Brooklyn, New York

I didn't see my favorite bottled water place listed there, "Eldorado Springs." I know they're spring water, though, because I've been to their plant.

I don't really care where water comes from as long as it is clean and tastes good. My tap water tastes nasty, so I filter it. So, I guess I'm a lot like Aquafina that way, I wonder if I could sell the water that comes from my fridge door?

I broke this news to my brother this past week when I heard about it. Aquafina is his favorite water, and he was crushed by the unfortunate news. :-(
I must say I felt a bit of glee delivering the news to him. :-)

I spent last week with my bro, and now we are at our parents' house in CA. On Wed, my dad, bro, son, and I start our driving vacation.
Family times are the BEST! I will cease my gallavanting on Aug. 8th and return to a regular life schedule which includes regular blogging. BTW, I drink tap water.

I saw the story on the nes the other day and had to laugh...both Aquafina and Dasani will now start labeling their bottles as something like "From Public Water Sources" instead of listing that it is tap water.

I have an RO unit with filters because the water is so nasty!
Also, because of hurricane supplies, I keep jugs and bottles of water in stock, just in case. I run my ice maker off the RO unit also.
And an empty bottle is great for half filling and popping in the freezer, then if you need one, grab and fill the rest of the way.

You know, my sister always used to think I was goofy because I've always said that I don't like the way Aquafina water tastes. I knew what I was talking about.

I'm much more comfortable with my bottled water being tap water than my fruit juice being 12% real juice.

Great responses everybody. We use the bottles for portability too.

I like the half-bottle refill in the freezer idea.

I always thought Aquafina tasted OK, but I'm not buying it anymore. I think I'm going to invest in a filter.

It's PURIFIED tap water. Like Brita only better.

Personally, I find that much more appealing than "spring" water that may be laced with giardia.

bw: I hear you, but they did benefit from representing themselves as the nebulous term
"PWS", i.e., public water source, & all the while charging "spring water" prices.

I didn't read the labels carefully enough & I blame no one but myself.

We are going to invest in a water purification filter of our own & not pay tons of $ for someone else's tap water.
