Cheney Decloaks

If this source can be trusted...

Sources: Cheney Uncloaks Bush Frustration

Bush should've listened to Cheney. When you're dealing with liberals, reaching your hand across the aisle in conciliation will only get you a stump.

Boy if you are ever right, Bush was good in his first term, (at least on some issues), the last few years of his final term were shocking, socialism, amnesty, runaway spending.....as you say all to 'reach across the aisle'....

I often wondered if the unrelenting bashing hurt Bush. It appears it did. No one could stand up to that kind of consistent s**t storm.

Gave me a lot of empathy for President Bush, though. And I think that's how history will treat it.

Left Coast Rebel: I thought Bush was a good, decent man who tried to do the best job he could for his country. I think towards the end, he kowtowed to pressure from the left and it hurt his credibility with many conservatives.

His fatal flaw, IMO, was not fighting back at the outrageous claims and outright lies told by the left. Notice how BO jumps on the least bit of criticism and tries to quell it?

Bush let the lies fester and they grew and, with the help of the MSM, they became "truth".

birdwoman: I always had empathy for Bush. It was a wonder to me how he could get up every day and do his job with the vile, unfair things being said about him.

I think history will absolve Bush, but it may take a long time for the facts to come out.

I tell ya' the longer Obama stays in office the prettier George Bush gets.

I think Bush was kind of broadsided by Katrina. He didn't seem the same after that, and the massive bailouts toward the end were ill-conceived.

EDGE: Spot on! I think there are many people out there who feel the same way.

dmarks: Had BO been in charge during Katrina, the very same rescue efforts would've been touted as the best in modern history (they were).

A little blame would've been cast upon the local officials who dropped the ball, but it would've been explained away because they were democrats.
