who would ever have thought that he would have such a brilliant second career? Happy 80 something

Jan: Who would've thought my first movie crush would've lived THIS long. Yikes!

I feel OLD.

I recently read Shatner's memoir Leonard: My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man. A must-read for all Trekkies!

AOW: Seriously, all this time I've known you and I never knew you were a Trekkie????? Absolutely, that book is on my reading list. My big surprise is that you're on that list as well. Let me just say I love you and live long and prosper.

There's a soft place in my heart for Star Trek and the intrepid crew of the Enterprise. Hope he has many more years to come!

He did a wonderful job on that show and in the movies, and the show and movies did a wonderful job of bringing interesting if not cutting edge ideas to us. So good.

TNG was pretty good too, but I didn't get much into the spin off's such as deep space nine or Voyager that imo were just soap operas in space.

Agreed, kid. Love Pickard but I want Cap'n Kirk in a pinch. For his birthday present, maybe we could all go in on filling his overhead storage bin with small, furry round alien puff balls that purr and coo (or do you think he already has some?)

Kid: I agree that Shatner was wonderful as Kirk.

I disagree with you about the spin offs... Deep Space Nine was as good or at times even better than its progenitor.

DaBlade: In a pinch, I would pick Captain Kirk myself. If you need a bunch of tribbles, I have one that vibrates and purrs that I could throw it into the birthday bunch. It's very realistic . I mean when my daughters were little they thought it was real.

Cube,
Yeah, I'm a Trekkie of the original series ilk. I was a Star Trek devotee when I was in high school.

BTW, every Friday cable channel BBC America broadcasts a Star Trek marathon which includes episodes from the original TV series. It begins @ 4:00 PM, EDT and continues through the next morning until 6:00 AM, EDT (original TV series episodes at those times). Later versions of Star Trek (spin offs) are broadcast on Saturdays from 6:00 AM EDT on through the weekend.

You'll love Shatner's memoir! I found a copy at my local public library and couldn't put the book down until I'd finished it.

I was never a Trekkie but I have fallen in love with Shatner in his second career and learning about his horse riding ability, etc. Happy Birthday Denny Crane:-)

AOW: I'm looking forward to reading the Shat man's most recent memoir. His stellar personality always shines well above the rest.

Granny Annie: Awww. The Shat man is a force to be reckoned with.and a charmer no matter where he goes. Some might say he's implicated in the death of one wife while others believe he's the real Captain Kirk. Who knows? Until I know for sure, I'll wish him a happy birthday and many more.

Sounds good. We'll need to include lots of quadrotriticale grain. It's all they eat.

cube said...

Kid: Quadrotriticale...? I'm laughing my butt off. Is it gluten free??

Kid said...

No Cube, it made them so fat and sex crazed that they filled up all of the grain bins with their insatiable appetite inspired growth and offspring. And that is what was in those grain bins on NCC-1701. :)

Kid: LOL! Oh, stop!

Kid said...

All True you cutie ! hahaha

cube said...

Kid: I looked it up. Tribbles don't even have sex. Feeding them anything will alter their metabolism and cause them to plop out baby tribbles. So they're not sex crazed, but they do have big appetites.

Kid said...

Well, just because they are self-fertalizing doesn't mean they aren't sex crazed. Give a tribble a mirror and a little food and watch the sparks fly. :-)

cube said...

Kid: Tribbles reproduced metabolically, i.e. if they ate, they reproduced. Sex, as humans know
it, was only introduced in your mind,
