James Dungy 1987-2005

James Dungy, the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, was found dead at 1:30 a.m. ET Thursday in his apartment in Lutz, Fla., a suburb of Tampa, Debbie Carter, a spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, confirmed Thursday.

Before the Colts, Coach Dungy was the head coach of the Buccanneers, and a fine coach he was. We were sorry to see him go to Indianapolis. I hope God can give him and his family the strength they will need to deal with this awful tragedy.

What a horrible thing. I can't even imagine such a terrible loss. Their Christmas will be filled with immense sorrow. God help them.

This kind of tragedy makes me want to go hug my kids all the more.

As the day progressed, there was talk of suicide, although I think they should wait for the autopsy before concluding anything.

Some radio stations were linking to his myspace.com web site which contained gang verbiage.

These reports can only make matters worse for the family trying to deal with their grief.

Hope they can make some sense out of it. Makes one wonder. I've always heard nice things about Coach Dungy. I am sure he's asking himself how could I miss this? I feel for the family. Will he come back to coach the rest of the season? Hope the team can rally round and not lose focus.

No parent should have to bury their child. My heart goes out to their family.

I believe that dude had much goings on in his life than he could handle, and in the coming days, we might find out what those things were. Why do things happen when the significant other supposedly leaves the crib they share for a break or two. Under normal circumstances, my man should have been cool. With the Indianapolis Colts doing well, and his dad getting some recognition for that, exposure increases a little bit in a lot of peoples lives. It smells like he got caught up into something extra.
